THE TALKIN’ TACKLE DEPTH WHISPERER ADDS VOICE OUTPUT TO YOUR DEPTH SOUNDER! Everyone in the boat will be effortlessly and constantly aware of the depth no matter what you are doing! You don’t have to continuously focus on the depth sounder screen anymore. When you get that first hit, you KNOW where you found that fish, because you just heard the depth spoken. When the wind or the waves move the boat around, you KNOW you’re moving off your spot, because you hear the depth changing. When you hear the water start to shallow up or deepen, you can adjust almost without thought. Having your EARS give you the alert frees your eyes, hands, and mind for other things, keeping you aware without requiring your attention. You can focus on your fishing, your tackle, or grabbing your next beer, and not lose track of your boat’s position on the water.
“After fishing the Depth Whisperer prototypes for a summer, I can tell you this: I’ve never known so much about the water I’m fishing; I’ve never stayed so close to the depth I’m targeting; I am a better fisherman with the Depth Whisperer.” – Ralph
HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED TO YOU? You are fishing happily along, watching your depth sounder, keeping your bait right where you want it, when something in or around the boat grabs your attention? It can be anything; talking to your buddy, grabbing a beer, re-rigging a rod, refreshing your bait or changing a lure, even a sudden gust of wind.
And by the time you check your depth again, you’re way off target, dragging your bait through unproductive water! You probably don’t even know which way or how far you’ve drifted. OF COURSE IT HAS!!
WITH OUR REVOLUTIONARY INVENTION
YOU’LL NEVER LOSE YOUR PLACE ON THE WATER AGAIN!
It’s simple, really. We happened on the idea after my bass-boat’s front depth sounder failed a few summers ago. You know, the end of the boat where the trolling motor is mounted, and where I sit to control our position and depth. So suddenly I was intermittently blind, and we quickly lost our position, over and over again. Of course my buddy at the back of the boat was getting frustrated, and the sounder at his end of the boat still worked fine, So I started asking him periodically what our depth was. And after a few repetitions, he started telling me the depth every time he thought of it. Then he started telling me the depth pretty continuously, every five or ten seconds.
WE LOVED WHAT HAPPENED! We finished out the summer without bothering to repair the broken sounder. At the front of the boat, I was effortlessly, constantly aware of the depth, no matter what I was doing! I Didn’t have to stay focused on a depth sounder screen anymore. When the water started to shallow up or deepen, I adjusted almost without thought. Having your EARS give you the alert somehow frees your eyes, hands, and mind for other things. (Yeah, I know: when he got distracted, we still got out of position. I said he’s my buddy, I didn’t say he was perfect.) But we learned an important fact: Your ears are an amazing second gateway to the brain. Since then, I’ve had several chances to try this technique with other fishing buddies. I don’t tell them what I’m doing, but I ask them at the end of the trip what they think of hearing the depth all the time. Here’s a typical response: “I’VE NEVER KNOWN SO MUCH ABOUT THE WATER I WAS FISHING!”
